The University of Haifa has taken the lead in creating academic programs specifically tailored to the requirements of the Haredi community. These programs take place at the Haredi College in Bnei Brak, the largest Haredi community in Israel, with University of Haifa lecturers travelling to Bnei Brak to provide instruction.  The programs, which were designed by a joint team of University academics and Haredi educators, seek to equip participants with the academic and practical tools to enter the work force, to find gainful employment, and become financially independent.
