The field of Holocaust Studies is approaching a critical turning point.  Just as a treasure trove of newly uncovered Holocaust materials is being made available in Eastern European countries, the number of students seeking to pursue academic careers in the Holocaust Studies continues to decrease.  We need to act now to prepare a new generation of Holocaust scholars who will preserve the memory of the past and continue to explore the lessons of the Holocaust for the international community.
